No accident

Emergency Exit

The building is fitted with an emergency intercom and the normal fire warning systems. In the event of a fire or emergency, use the fire stairs and not the life to exit. The stairs will take you to the main foyer or alternatively through the basement carpark to the Nelson St exit. Once safe, please let the other residents know that your location via the Whatsapp group. If you are not at Holly during an evacuation, it would be great if you could let the group know you are safe and accounted for, particularly if your neighbours are not aware you are away.

Communication is key during an emergency, so check in on your neighbours to see if they need any assistance.

Entry and Intercom

Your apartment fob will give you access to the
– Main front door
– Nelson Street pedestrian door
– Lift access to your floor level
– Stairwell access to your floor level

Please note – the stairwell fob reader is silent, and the door handle is fixed. When you swipe the stairwell fob reader, the fire door will unlock, and you can pull the door open.

Guest entry
The code for your apartment is 0 followed by your apartment number. For example, apartment 103 would be 0103. To call your apartment from the front door, enter this code followed by the bell symbol.

The intercom in your apartment will ring, to answer press the speak icon on the top right once to activate a two-way conversation with the visitor. It will light up green when active. To end the conversation and press the button again and the screen will turn off. If you do not end the conversation, sound from your apartment will continue to be broadcast to the other intercom.

To allow a caller entry, press the key icon on your intercom. This will unlock the door where the caller is located and temporarily unlock lift access to your floor. Your visitor will now be able to meet you at your apartment door.

Access

Access to the building is via –

  • 55 Wellington Street (stairs and wheelchair accessible lift)
  • 55 Nelson Street (carpark door and gate entrance)

You’ll need a fob to access the door entrances and a controller for the garage door. Mayfield OCM can help you with these. It’s a good idea to have a backup swipe/key available in the lockbox.

When entering the building make sure that you don’t allow others you don’t know in at the same time.

Mail and deliveries

It’s important to check for mail each day and avoid leaving deliveries outside the foyer. If everyone keeps their mailbox clear, it reduces the appeal to a potential mail thief. If you see a parcel outside the foyer, bring it inside and leave it on the benches near the lift entrance. Use the Whatsapp group to direct message the recipient and let them know it’s down there. Avoid letting delivery people into the foyer, but rather come down to collect the parcel in person.

Stairwell

Do not store anything in the stairwells or in front of the stair doors – they need to be clear in case of emergency.
